Rumi Flute

Rumi Flute
Born in Kyoto Japan, Afro-Latin jazz flutist Rumi is a new member of the Revolg Records artist roster, breaking out with the phenomenal solo debut album "Zabumba Rumba." Rumi's past accolades are numerous, including awards at the Kobe Flute Convention Competitions in Japan, the Mainichi Newspaper, and the National Flute Association here in the states.

Rumi graduated conservatory in Austria where she studied classical flute with Dr. Werner Tripp at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. After that, she began to study jazz flute with Shinpei Inoue, became interested in world music, and started composing her own original music that expressed the culmination of her diverse styles and training. 

Since then she has participated on many CDs as a recording artist. Rumi currently lives in Los Angeles where she regularly performs jazz and her own original music in small ensemble groups.

Dan Reckard

Dan Reckard has performed and recorded with a multitude of Brazilian artists, including Verônica Dumar, Toni Duarte, Pedro de Rosa Morais, and Bahian pop icon Gerônimo. He has also performed with Vince Mendoza, Barbara Morrison, and South African pop star Lorraine Klaasen. He served as music director for a concert called “From Bebop to Doo-Wop to Hip Hop,” which featured Motown composer, Lamont Dozier, and the late jazz legend, James Moody. Reckard also organized a benefit concert in Laguna Beach in May of 2010, called “Green Blues: A Night of Modern Jazz with Dan Reckard,” which featured Reckard’s original compositions for a large jazz ensemble with a string quartet. He served as music director and conductor for the Theme and Entertainment Awards and has been featured on the hit TV series GLEE. Reckard is an accomplished saxophonist, pianist, arranger and composer who graduated from USC’s Thornton School of Music where he received the prestigious Global Scholar Prize for six months in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, studying music and language.

Capital Guitar

Capital has been featured on over 20 recordings from Rock to Hip-Hop to Brazilian, alongside artists such as Marco Bosco, Airto Moreira, Paulo Calasans, Swing Out Sister, Ken Okulolo, Kenneth Nash, Del The Funky Homosapien, Ken Ishii, DJ Nozawa, Shing02, and more. A former high school Oregon state Classical Guitar champion, Capital is equally comfortable on electric and acoustic guitar, with a wide palette of professional experience that also includes Jazz, Afro-Beat, Latin American Folkloric, and Electronica music styles. He has toured extensively in the U.S., Canada, Japan and Brazil, and performed numerous festivals including Japan's Fuji Rock Festival and Seattle's BrasilFest.

Alex Kerckhoff

Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, influenced by the sonic explorations of Jeff Beck, the restless creativity of Tom Waits and the dangerously funky rhythms of James Brown, Alex Kerckhoff has created a sound and musical attitude that is all his own. The young guitarist and songwriter will release his debut album on Revolg Records in early 2012. Stay tuned for more details!

Alex started teaching himself guitar at the age of 13 and immediately fell in love with the instrument. His love for music lead to years of practicing which eventually brought him to USC’s Thornton School of Music. At the university level, Alex was able to augment and expand upon his rock and roll roots by becoming immersed in all styles and aspects of music including, jazz, classical, flamenco, country, theory, arranging, recording, and song writing.
